Description
Height of the only tree : 330 mm. Branch width : 320 mm.
Quality enameled pot with a diameter of 220*75 mm. Moyogi style.
Trunk diameter is about10-20 mm. Nebari : 50 mm.
The genus Gardenia, belonging to the Rubiaceae family, is called "kushinashi" in Japanese.
It's a beautiful evergreen shrub with glossy green foliage.
This bonsai, originating from a cutting and over 15 years old, has always been cultivated in a pot, ensuring its quality.
There is a healing cutting wound on the top of the trunk.
The main attraction of this species is its magnificent fragrant flowering, which occurs from mid-June to late July, followed by orange fruit that persists until winter.
The flowers are creamy white, ivory, or even slightly pink, with a very characteristic and highly sought-after sweet fragrance.
Gardenias were once grown for cut flowers and making boutonnieres.
When potted, gardenias are cold greenhouse or orangery plants, and it is essential to provide frost protection depending on your region.
Repotted in May 2023, photographed in September 2023. Sold without its stand.
