Juniperus chinensis
Description
Tree height: 310 mm.
Branch width: 280 mm.
Unglazed brown Japanese pottery: 150*130*65 mm.
Style: Moyogi, trunk diameter 30-40 mm.
Repotted in Akadama soil in spring 2021.
Requires generous watering in the summer and regular fertilization throughout the growing season.
A very graceful bonsai of over 20 years with the tormented movement of its trunk.
Well-branched subject with balanced branch trays and a beautifully aged-looking cracked shari on the trunk, and jins, without any significant cutting scars or wire marks.
The itoigawa variety is known for not losing too much foliage in early summer and having a vibrant green color and smaller scales compared to the Juniperus chinensis type, which is a very interesting aspect in bonsai cultivation.
Whitening the deadwood with a jin product, tinted with charcoal, will give it an ashy color, which is very attractive.
