Exhibition and Sale at the Journées des Plantes de Chantilly
MAILLOT BONSAÏ will be in the Journées des Plantes de Chantilly, which will take place from 9 to 11 October 2026, from 8 AM to 6 PM, in partnership with the Japanese company Akaishi no Izumi.
An Exceptional Exhibition Dedicated to the Pine Trees of Shikoku Island
At the request of the Japanese government, Mr Guy Maillot was invited to organise, as part of the Chantilly Plant Days, an exhibition dedicated to bonsai pine trees originating from the island of Shikoku, Japan.
This invitation recognises his expertise in the world of Japanese bonsai, acquired through nearly 40 years of experience, as well as the close relationships he has maintained for many years with Japan and Japanese bonsai professionals.
Having spent several years studying and learning the art of bonsai in Japan, and being fluent in Japanese, Guy Maillot has developed an in-depth knowledge of traditional Japanese techniques for cultivating and training bonsai.
His numerous stays in Japan have also enabled him to establish close relationships with nurserymen, growers and bonsaï masters, particularly on the island of Shikoku, a region especially renowned for the cultivation of pine trees.
Through this exhibition at Chantilly, Guy Maillot has the privilege of introducing the French public to the expertise of Japanese growers and the richness of a horticultural tradition passed down from generation to generation.
